Internships at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary

The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary offers two 15-week internship opportunities during the spring (mid-January to mid-April) and summer (mid-May to mid-August). Juniors, seniors and recent graduates with a background in biology, zoology, ecology, pre-vet, fisheries & wildlife, education and parks & rec are encouraged to apply.

Wildlife Management Internship

  • Routine care of captive wildlife
  • Breeding and rearing of birds
  • Waterfowl and songbird trapping and banding
  • Assist with bird counts and surveys within the area

Interpreter/Educator Internship

  • Develop and deliver educational and outreach programs
  • Lead eductional tours
  • Develop and maintain on-site education exhibits
  • Assist with eveng planning and production of educational and promotional materials
  • Assist with bird counts and surveys within the area
  • Resource Center assistant greeting patrons
